This gas will force the lubricant to leave the equipment at a constant rate. The rate can be adjusted to suit the use of the component, but the rate will be affected by viscosity fluctuations.

　　Electrochemical lubricators are usually purchased in use form and can be configured to dispense lubricating oil within a period of one month or three months or a year. After the equipment is installed at the lubrication point, the installer will install it, which will start the electrochemical gas production process that pressurizes the equipment. Because mixing different greases can impair lubrication performance, manufacturers of these devices usually sell greases pre-filled with many available formulations.

　　 Electric lubricators are more complicated and therefore expensive, so they are usually sold in the form of refillable units. Usually, the battery is replaced when recharging.

　　 These units are more suitable for lubricating bearings and bearing units on conveyors, motors, pumps and blowers. They can be installed directly on the bearing, or can be piped from nearby to the lubrication point to bypass guards or obstacles, or to simplify replacement/filling in narrow or dangerous locations.

　　 spring drive unit is the simpler of single-point lubricators. They do not require batteries or electricity to operate. The spring can be selected in several ranges to match the choice of lubricant and the operating temperature. Many of them are fillable.

　　 There are several forms of lubrication equipment: gravity flow or drip irrigation, oil wick and constant level. Gravity flow injectors rely on manually adjusted needle valves to provide intermittent oil flow for mechanical components. The drips per minute are calculated by observing the on-site glass, which is indispensable for the oiler. Adding an oil wick or brush to a gravity flow lubricator allows the oil to reach the components better, such as in the case of cam followers or roller chains.
